Well Jake and I are building a house and are sooo excited!! We are going to be on a pretty tight budget becuase of it but everything just seemed to fit so perfectly that we were able to get it that we couldnt pass it up. It is a 4 bedroom 3 story single family home with a finished basement. It is a great lot at the end of the development so there is no traffic and has a pretty good sized yard for the east coast. It is only 20-25 minutes from his work so his commute wont be that bad. We had our pre drywall meeting today and everything looks great. They say that they are ahead of schedule and shold be done September 14th!! Here is a link to the floor plan/tour and all that if you want to check it out. Ours does not have brick though. It is going to feel so good to live in a place that is not only all mine but a place that no one else has lived before. No more asking landlords for permission to get something fixed and no more white glove cleaning every year!!! Sooo sick of moving and cleaning! It is nice to think that this is the last one for a little while. AND I can paint the walls and actually decorate!!!! Sweet!! :)

One CRAZY Summer!!

Well I've decided that I am probably the worst blogger ever! I way behind! So I thought I would catch everyone up on what has been going on with our Summer. After Kennedy's birthday the visitors started coming. It is funny that when we lived in Idaho no one really came to see us but now that we live in DC everyone is rushing to see us. :) The first to come out were David and Sarah Thurm. David is one of Jakes old missionary companions and he had training out here for a week so Sarah came along and they stayed with us and we had fun hanging out and being tourists. Then Adele came out to visit while she was house hunting in Maryland for a week. Then Ben and Michelle and their little boy came out for a few days and stayed at Bryce and Trinas.

Then after that (beg/mid May) Jakes surgeries to fix his deviated septum begun. We thought it would just be one simple painful percedure and at first it was. Then a week later the doctor noticed that Jakes nose had gotten infected and he had a Hematoma which that had to have surgery right away to fix. The recovery was much harder for that one since they were so close together. The saddest part is that neither surgery fixed his breathing problem. Turns out that Jake has a bone fragment blocking his nasal passage and they have to drill into his skull to remove it. We havent scheduled that surgery yet because we have been so busy but it will happen soon.

After that I went to play with my family in Seattle for 3 whole weeks! Kenendy and I had soo much fun! We spent a weekend at Seaside when we were down there and had a blast! I miss my family so much and it is hard to live so far away but I am glad that I have the means to be able to go visit them as much as I can.

I got home on the first of July. It was supposed to be the day before but I have horrible luck with flying and my flight from seattle was delayed and I missed my connecting flight in JFK and so I had to stay the night in the airport cause the hotel they gave me the voucher for was booked. It was a really long night of absolutely no sleep. Kennedy got like 4 hours total and was amazing. I swear she could sense how frustrated and stressed that I was and just decided that it would be better to lay low and chill. Jakes parents arrived the next day to play for a week. Kennedy had so much fun with Grandma and Grandpa Groth. They left on the 9th and Jakes little sister Emily and her husband Chris and their little one year old Eva came from the 11th to the 20th. Then Jake left on the 24th for a conference in Vegas for 11 days and gets home tonight!! Phew!! That was exhausting just thinking about it.

In the midst of all of that Jake and I bought a house. We are building it in a new development about 20 minutes south of where we are right now. Jakes commute will go up to 25 minutes cause right now we live 2 mile from his work. At first I was skeptical but now I am really excited! It should be done September 28th! The ward we live in right now is really cool so we will be sad to leave but we have moved so many times thats it no big deal.

Kennedy is going to be 16 months old this week. She has become quite the big girl and still is a total ham. Everything is so funny and exciting. She still has her precious little attitude that sneaks out every once and a while ut who doesnt. She is starting to talk more and more. She says, "hi, bye, water, bottle, wiggles (loves them), dog, moo, please...etc" Jake and I also celebrate our 5th year wedding anniversary. Its crazy that it has been that long. Man I feel old :)

These are just a few pictures from Kennedy's Birthday party on April 4th. We had a few friends over and had a fun little party. Kennedy didn't really care about her presents she just wanted to play with the other kids. She was surprisingly delicate with her cake and ice cream. She just poked it and then sucked it off her fingers, slowly and neatly.....silly girl! She usually does that with something new.

Poor kennedy got such silly and easily entertained parents :)
She loves Adventure! She likes it when you pretend to drop her, throw her in the air, toss her around, pretend to bite and beat her up....you get the picture. Right now we are battling the stairs. We are gerat at climbing up but thats all we now how and like to do. She doesnt want to go down she gets mad. We have had one big tumble so far. But we need to just practice, practice, practice.... She is learning how to walk right now too. She is great when she is holding your hand but she wont let you let go and as soon as you do she just falls to the floor and throws a fit....oh yea.....she is good at throwing a fit.
Kennedy is a sweet little girl but not a quiet one. She is a screamer and a growler! When she wants what you have she growls as loud as she can. We are working on please cause its pretty annoying. But at least I know what she wants. :)

Kennedy was playing with the curtains next to our sliding glass window today. It was pretty cute so I had to get a video of it. She was having so much fun! She is such a mover, and is getting so fast. We are working on walking but not in too big of a rush, she is only 10 months old. Right now I am trying to work on transititoning to sippy cups cause I am sick of cleaning bottles and we are about to reach the one year mark. Which I am way excited for! I can't believe that she is that big already. It seriously seems like she was born 3 months ago. Man oh man does time fly when you dont get much sleep. I am trying to have self control and not buy her a ton of things for her birthday and am finding it really difficult. There are so many cool toys out there and we have so little right now. If anyone has some cool ideas for presents and what not let me know. I am going to throw her a little party for her birthday. There are a lot of little baby's her age in our ward and I think it would be so much fun for all of them!!

One of Kennedy's favorite things is a baked potato with cheese on top. She starts off by slowing picking off and eating all of the cheese and then goes for the potato. She loves it and usually eats almost all of it!! Here are a few pictures from dinner last night!
Oh and we also walked from the kitchen to the living room today with her just holding one of my hands!! She has changed so must in these past few months. It has been so much fun to see her turning into a little girl. I really do love my little wild, mischievous, curious, easily excited, sweet baby.

Me want Food!!!

Lately this is what Kennedy looks like after she is done eating. She is pretty messy. She likes to try and feed herself, but she misses half of the time or she gets too excited and starts shaking the spoon causing her food to fly. She also likes to wait right until I get the spoon full of food into her mouth and either spit as hard as she can or start talking to me. This usually makes the majority of the mess, spraying food everywhere. Tonight was one of those nights. She managed to get me in the face tonight with one of her spits of food. She thought she was pretty funny and I couldnt help but laugh myself. Which probably wasnt the best reaction because she will just want to do it more but i couldnt resist. This crazy little girl is always making me laugh.
When we were out at the mall today with trina and claire we went into Pac Sun and the moment we walked in and she heard the music in the store she started dancing in her stroller. They guy that worked there thought it was pretty funny. She is always dancing. She loves music just like her mommy and daddy. She has several different moves too. She hops up and down, rocks back and forth, sways from side to side, stomps her little feet and shakes her booty. I have a little on video but I need to get a lot more. Absolutely adorable!!

Tickle me Cookie Moster!

Kennedy got a tickle me cookie monster for christmas from her Grandma Rose this year. She still hasnt decided if she likes it or not yet. It's pretty funny to watch her when you turn it on. She just looks at it and then looks at you with this look of fear and confusion. Eventually she will warm up to it.
Sadly I forgot the charger for my camera and it was dead on christmas morning so we had to make due for the iphone. They are blurry but at least i have something. We had a small christmas this year. It was kinda nice and completely stress free. We didnt get Kennedy a present until we got home so we relied purely on grandma groth christmas morning for her and she didnt dissapoint. Grandma Collette sent the presents before we left so we had an early christmas too. Jake and I only got a few small things for eachother but great presents from our paretns. We ended up getting Kennedy one of those little cars that you can transform and either ride or push. She loves it we have hard wood floors in our kitchen and dining room and we ride around all the time. She holds on goods we can go pretty fast. Overall great christmas, thanks everyone!

Kennedy loved playing with the Christmas Cards that we got this year. Not many survived but they were thoroughly enjoyed. Her favorite thing to do (beside getting into the kitchen cabinets) is go over to this stair between our dining and living room and bouncing up and down. She is everywhere and gates are a needed purchase that I have yet to make. She thinks the world and my body are her playground and boy does she play. There is rarely a dull moment in our house which is fun and exhausting at the same time.

Kennedy was playing with the laundry basket while I was folding the clothes that used to be in it and she got stuck underneath! She thought it was funny. She didn't complain she just played under it until she figured out how to get out. She was pretty proud of herself when she did. She is always exploring and getting into mischief.
Yesterday I caught her chewing on the railing to her new crib so I got the cheap plastic guard rails for it. Well today when I went to get her out of her crib the little stinker had figured out how to take them off and totally chewed it all up!! :( So needless to say I am going to return them and get new ones cause they obviously are useless!!

I recently got the new song Dance, dance by Lady Gaga and Kennedy cant get enough of it. Whenever it comes on she immediately start dancing. It is so cute.!!

We had a pretty calm Halloween this year. Just a few trick or treaters and that was it. Kennedy was Cinderella and during the day she wore a Halloween dress that her Grandma Rose made. She was pretty cute in her Cinderella dress. We borrowed it from Autumn (Jakes sister). What a cutie huh? Oh if you look real close in the first picture you can see her two little teeth on the bottom!! She got them about 2 months ago.

We have a community pool in our little development area that we can go to. We only we a few times cause it was the end of july when we got here and it closed on Labor day :( But we had fun when we did. Kennedy did such a good job of kicking her little feet in the water and she always took really good naps afterward. :)

Lately she just loves to bite down on things really hard and then growl at them while doing it. Its pretty funny cause randomly she will just start growling at something. Silly girl :)

while we were staying at Nick and Adele's for our last week in Idaho before the Big Move Kennedy borrowed some of Mia's toys. She especially liked this one. At first it scared her (like almost everything...even my toothbrush makes her cry :) ) but she got over it and grew to like it a lot. It was the first time she figured out how to reach up and play with toys.

Kennedy was blessed on Mother's Day May 11th, 2008 in Pocatello, Id. Kennedy and I hitched a ride home to Seattle with my parents for week the next day. This is Jon and Kim's newest addition Samuel Joseph and this was his blessing was the next sunday.

Jake and Kennedy were watching TV together and they fell asleep. I was folding laundry and looked up and couldn't resist taking a picture. Soooo cute! Kennedy is about a month old in this picture. She really is her daddy's little girl. Her eyes light up and her mouth opens and her arms go out every time he comes home from work. It is the cutest thing.

I started having contractions at about 5 am friday morning. I didnt want to go to the hopsital and wait forever so i toughed it out and cleaned the house (cause i knew family would be coming in town and it was a disaster) until about 11am. I went to ask Jake if he could get ready so we could go to the hospital and he asked me if he could finish his episode of CSI first. He thought it was pretty funny but I didnt really see it at the time. I obviously said no and so we headed out and got to the hopsital at about noon.
When we got there the nurses didn't think I was very far along cause they said I was, "very calm". They got me a room and checked to see how far along I was and were shocked to see that I was already at a 9 but my water had not broken yet. By the time 1 pm rolled around I had already settled into my room, gotten my epidural and had my water broken. I pushed for about two hours and then the doctor had to leave to do a c-section so they cranked up my medicine and had me stop for about two hours. I didnt mind at all cause I was tired and enjoyed the nap :) When they finally came back it was like 5pm and shifts were changing in an hour so they decided it was business time so they could get out of there no time. An hour, about 3 nurses and 4 doctors later Kennedy was born a few mintues after 6pm. I still dont know the name of the doctor that delivered her cause they switched in the last 10 minutes of my delivery. Oh well, everything turned out ok but it was pretty funny.

She was 6lbs 11oz and 20 in long. This is when she was about 6 days old. The doctors said that she will be my biggest baby unless I want to have a c-section. My mom and dad were there all week helping out, and it was such a lifesaver to have them around.
